Download SeedSpindle ↗

This is the official download for SeedSpindle. The button gives the original setup program, which is about 34 MB, and the steps below show how to verify it before you run it. Download only from this page or from the update button inside the app itself. The official build is the same file for everyone, and the manifest lets you confirm that your copy matches it.

  1. Click the download button to get the setup program, which is about 34 MB. Your browser saves it to the downloads folder, and nothing is installed until you run the file yourself. Keep the file where you can find it, because you need its path in the next step.
  2. Compare the SHA-256 checksum of the file with the published manifest. The Windows command certutil prints the hash, and the two values must match letter for letter before you go on. If they differ, stop and download the file again from this page.
  3. Run the setup program. If Windows SmartScreen warns you, click More info and then Run anyway, but do this only after the checksum matches, because the installer is not code-signed yet. Follow the installer to the end and let it finish.
  4. Open the app, connect a model, and choose the project folder where you want the agent to work. If you use Linux, pick WSL or SSH to your own server as the environment. Then describe your first task and read the diff before you accept it.
Before you begin

You do not need an account to run SeedSpindle. The app runs on your Windows PC, and you decide which model it talks to. A cloud AI provider may charge separately for its own usage, and that bill comes from the provider, not from this site. Keep your API key in the app settings only, and use the Test button to check the endpoint before real work. The Send feedback button inside the app reaches support if a step does not go as described here.

System requirements and files

SeedSpindle runs on Windows 10 and 11 with an x64 processor. The setup program is about 34 MB, and a portable single .exe of about 25 MB also exists as a separate file. This page and its button give the setup program only. The app interface comes in 13 languages, and the chat cards show the real command output. Linux is reached through WSL or SSH, so the shell files you edit stay on your own system. A model, either a cloud AI provider, a local one or the built-in model, is needed before the agent can plan a task.

Updates

New versions are published automatically, and the app shows an Update button when one is ready. Click it to install the new release. The installer build enables this, so a portable copy may behave differently. Version 2.9.28 was released on 4 Nov 2026. Update checks are one of the few things the app does over the network without a prompt from you. You can also check the version number in the app against the one on this page. Compare before you update. Compare the version number first.

Verify the download checksum

Windows
certutil -hashfile "C:\Users\you\Downloads\<downloaded file>.exe" SHA256

Use this Windows command to print the SHA-256 hash of the file you downloaded, and replace the path with the real location of your file. Compare the printed value with the published manifest. If the two values differ, delete the file and download it again from this page. Match first. Only then run the setup program.
